This past week was a bumpy ride for every team member. Few days prior to the commencement of the Bootcamp, everywhere was filled with cruise but as it is now Side Hustle has fed us with tasks left, right and center. E don choke!

I know you have a lot of questions right now.

Like what on Earth is BootCamp, MoniTraka ….?

You don't have to worry, everything will be explained.

Let me start from the beginning.

It all started from the Side Hustle Internship period where hundreds of people were given the opportunity to learn various valuable digital skills. We all started off as interns. The internship lasted for 6 weeks ( you're wondering why the time frame is always 6 weeks right? I don't know too oo; we'd probably have to ask our amazing founder Mr Garfield @NgSidehustle)

At the end of the 6 weeks, we learned various valuable skills in different tracks like Digital Marketing and Content Creation, Graphics designing and so on…..

After Six good weeks of taking classes, quizzes and capstone projects, we thought that was all (I know some of us already had the thought of making money as from the following week) then the Bootcamp came in where we had to put what we had learned into real life project and at the same time work with people from different tracks.

At Startup 19, our project was to work on a personal finance app that helps users track and manage their finances and also share and track financial goals with friends; this was what brought about the name MoniTraka ( I believe you now know what MoniTraka means). This app is to be built by different people from different tracks and it turns out that though the goal is to get better in our chosen career, we are also going to be learning teamwork and great communication skills.

Amazing right?

Let me tell you what is more amazing and mind blowing.

Our MoniTraka App is going to be launched!!!!! (Do you know what that means?) This app is a project turned reality that is going to be available for download to people. That is, the team is not working on a vague project but a real life one.

You can call us the latest brand owners!!!!!

Now, let's get to the update for the week. We had deliverables to meet for this week.

The ever amazing Digital Marketing and Content Creation Team came up with the demographics of the Target Audience, a content calendar for June using the Google sheets, the content strategy for the month of June, an email account and various social media pages such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Cool right? The social media managers are also on standby; this is to let you know that you can't afford not to follow this Social Media handles because we have great stuff in store for you.

The Backend Development team swung into action, they created a GitHub account and made research on finances application and how to come up with an ERD. After a lot of brainstorming, they were able to come up with an ERD diagram which was drawn on draw.io. They also went as far as saving and exporting the diagram in three formats i.e PDF, PNG and jpeg.

Have a look at this: drive.google.com/file/d/14BJn8qsNMX8xlfhamy..

Aren't these guys amazing? I was here wondering why the team member and sub team lead of the week came from the Backend Development team. But…. let's not lie, these guys are not here to play at allllll. EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH OUT!

Then the Product Management team decided to shock us; I knew from the onset that these guys were going to just blow our minds because they are always too serious (don't tell them, abeg). When I saw the user Persona and the product vision they created, I was amazed. It's a great privilege working with these guys. As if that wasn't enough, they still collaborated with the Product Designing team (the UI/UX people) and came up with the best features for our app (MoniTraka) and a User Flow.

Now, I don't know, maybe the graphics designing team got a bit jealous oo. Because I was just sitting there checking out the internet when these guys dropped the logo for the MoniTraka app, still surprised at the incredible color combo these guys decided to drop the team flyer again (at that point I was like these guys should be calming down). They just choked us with creativity, those guys too sabi abeg. I salute.

What do you think?

Our team started off with great vibes.

It's still the first week and there's still a lot to be done.

Stay with us. See you next week.

Next week? I don't think so.

The tasks for week 2 just dropped, so expect us later this week.

And you can also follow us on our social media platforms to be a part of this incredible journey.
